A crisp clean
chardonnay, lightly oaked, with fresh tropical fruit flavors. A wonderfully
different take on heavy, over-oaked chardonnays. A real pleasure to drink.

Santa Cruz Mountain
Peter Martin Ray
Chardonnay
Martin Ray began planting Chardonnay, Cabernet and Pinot Noir back in
the 1940's, beginning with the Mountain Winery, and later he established Mount
Eden Vineyards. His son Peter has maintained the tradition and still farms many
of the same vines his father planted above Saratoga. This is a truly historic
vineyard, and the vines produce a complexity and minerality that reflects the
Santa Cruz Mountain appellation. This is one for the cellar, as I expect it
to continue to improve over the next 7 to 8 years.
