2006
Santa Lucia Highlands
Sleepy Hollow
Chardonnay

A crisp clean chardonnay, lightly oaked, with fresh tropical fruit flavors. A wonderfully different take on heavy, over-oaked chardonnays. A real pleasure to drink.  $18

2006
Santa Cruz Mountain
Peter Martin Ray
Chardonnay

Martin Ray began planting Chardonnay, Cabernet and Pinot Noir back in the 1940's, beginning with the Mountain Winery, and later he established Mount Eden Vineyards. His son Peter has maintained the tradition and still farms many of the same vines his father planted above Saratoga. This is a truly historic vineyard, and the vines produce a complexity and minerality that reflects the Santa Cruz Mountain appellation. This is one for the cellar, as I expect it to continue to improve over the next 7 to 8 years. $23

Primitivo Clone

This delicious Primitivo clone Zinfandel is grown by George Unti in the beautiful Dry Creek Valley in Healdsburg.

With sweet fragrances of mocha, earthy black fruit, winter spices and brambles, this rich ripe wine opens up to flavors of blackberries and chocolate-dipped strawberries, spice cake and espresso. This is a Zinfandel-lovers’ Zinfandel! Pair with grilled lamb or barbecue.  $18

"Alessia"
Barbera

From Cooper Vineyards in the Shenendoah Valley, my 100% Barbera is full of bright red cherries and brambly spice. Picture drinking it on a grassy California  hillside on a warm summer day.

I think that my Barbera really represents the joy of drinking wine! This unique and intense wine would pair well with Italian Sausage, Antipasti, strong cheeses or Spanish style tapas.   $20

2005
Alexander Valley
Slipstream
Red Wine Blend

A delicious blend of 65% Merlot and  35% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Fragrances of rose petals and blackberries, black coffee, vanilla and leather introduce an openly structured palate of blueberry-cherry, brambles, cocoa and caramel.   Fragrant and smooth, this food-friendly wine pairs well with most red meats or pasta.   $15

2005
Napa Valley
Giuliani Vineyards
Cabernet Sauvignon

This rich and sumptuous Napa Cabernet offers deep flavors of chocolate, leather and Mediterranean herbs, with black cherry and olallieberry fruit, hints of black licorice and smoke, soft tannins and a lingering smooth smokey finish. It’s a delicious wine, and a great value. Pair with hard dry cheeses, osso buco or wood-fired meats.   $25

Made from Pinot Noir grapes, with  beautiful fragrances of strawberry and clover blossoms. My Rose has developed quite a following! We sold out quickly last year. A great warm weather wine, but it’s also great any time, before a meal or all by itself. Serve chilled.    $15
